Our Strategy
At the Springfield Thunderbird Organization, it is critical that we are in the community promoting our brand. For example, on social media or conducting our Thunderbirds Thursdays community events. These events will occur for three months that provide our fans an opportunity to interact with our staff for four hours and talk about how we can improve ourselves as an organization going forward.
“When no one is in that seat, not only do we lose the value of the ticket, we lose concession money, merchandise money, and program money” (Howard, D., & Crompton, J., 2004, p.88).
Differential pricing is the core of a marketing-oriented approach to pricing professional sports. It is based on the concept of price discrimination, which is a widely used strategy adopted when a market is comprised of segments that have different demand characteristics (Howard, D., & Crompton, J., 2004).
One study surveyed workers in 80 Top U.S. Companies with access to flexibility and found that a mere 2% used telecommuting, job-sharing, and part-time schedules and only 24% used flextime (Williams, J., Blair-Loy, M., & Berdahl, J., 2013). Another study found that only 11% of the full-time workforce had a formal agreement with their employer to vary their work hours; a separate 18% had an informal agreement to vary their hours (Williams, J., Blair-Loy, M., & Berdahl, J., 2013).
